Children in need often go without basic items such as winter coats, food, diapers, hygiene products, backpacks and school supplies as their families struggle to make ends meet. These items are essential for children to thrive at home, school and through their childhood to break out of the cycle of poverty. According to the 2019 American Community Survey, nearly 88,000 children in A Precious Child's eight-county Denver Metro area live below the Federal Poverty Level, but in reality the need is so much greater, as over 250,000 kids in these areas live below the Colorado Self-Sufficiency Standard. Because of our generous donors, in 2021 we were able to provide services to 46,518 children, focusing on Child and Family Advocacy, Family Stability, Academic Success, Social & Emotional Well-being and Workforce Development. However, this still leaves thousands who still need our help.

Our community continues to feel the debilitating effects caused by recent multiple crises. A Precious Child has a long history of stepping up in the wake of disaster. In 2013, A Precious Child served children, individuals and families displaced by the floods. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, A Precious Child has served 42,000 people with over $846,000 worth of covid related hygiene and cleaning supplies. Today, A Precious Child is helping those impacted by the Marshall Fire receive immediate essentials such as clothing, toiletries, bedding, home and kitchen goods, gift cards and childrens school supplies and sports equipment while also supporting long-term relief efforts. We are able to step up to help stabilize communities in crisis because of the outpouring of kindness and support from the greater community. Your generous contribution helps to make this ongoing work possible.

In light of the ongoing needs of A Precious Childs existing clients and agency partners and the increased demand for support from those affected by the Marshall Fire, a number of friends and supporters of A Precious Child have created a $750,000 matching fund with the goal of raising $1.5mm in the first quarter of 2022. This funding will support the expanded demand for A Precious Child services between helping individuals and families impacted by the fires in Boulder County, as well as A Precious Childs five Cradle to Career Initiatives supporting children and families living below the Colorado Self Sufficiency standard across the eight county Denver Metro area.

Match 4 Mission is A Precious Child's annual fund campaign taking place January 13 through March 31, 2022. To kick off the campaign, community leaders have stepped up to establish a special matching gift fund of $750,000 to challenge and inspire others to support A Precious Child's life changing programs and crisis response capabilities. This means that, dollar for dollar, your donation to the Match 4 Mission campaign benefiting A Precious Child will be matched, up to $750,000!

This campaign also includes individual donors who are hosting personal fundraising drives or championing a team fundraising page. These caring individuals set their own fundraising goals, sharing their commitment to their personal networks to raise awareness and funds to help meet our goal. All funds raised through Match 4 Mission will support A Precious Child in furthering our mission to provide children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential.
