Story
Marudyan is committed to giving below poverty line children the chance of an education and a better future.
Marudyan UK was established by staff from the international architecture practice ADP, to support the work of the Calcutta Marudyan Society in India.
As experts in education building design, our decision to support the Calcutta Marudyan Society (and set up a UK charity) was driven by our passionate belief in the importance of education for all and a desire to give a new purpose to the work we do. The charity is run and managed entirely by volunteers. With no overheads, and no expensive marketing costs, all of the money we raise goes straight to the children and families who need it.
ADP's relationship with the Calcutta Marudyan Society began in 2011 when the company set up a design studio in Old Gurgaon, Delhi. After meeting founder John Beentjes, David Heslop and Alison McKerracher from ADP committed to supporting the Marudyan Education Centre to make a tangible difference to the wider community in Old Gurgaon, the home of their Delhi studio. Since then staff from across ADP's six UK offices have been supporting the charity's efforts through fundraising.
