Story

Martin and Katie, have signed the dotted line to climb Kilimanjaro this October! Both will be joining a wonderful team of 8 from the company Designer Group, along with one of the charity Trustees, Darren Sharp.

Kilimanjaro is a tough 7-day challenge, with 6 nights of camping, battling altitude and different terrains plus, there are no shower facilities!!😬 We cannot ask people to participate in events and fundraise for us without leading by example, so let the challenge begin.

We are fundraising as a team to help fulfill future wishes, including providing an eye gaze device which is a specialist piece of equipment for Neve, an incredible 11-year-old girl with multiple diagnoses, including neurological, physical, and cognitive conditions.

An eye gaze device will give her the gift of her voice and allow her to communicate with her family for the first time. It's a very special wish, but also expensive so as a team we will be pushing to raise enough for Neve and future wishes on our list. The training, the hard times, and the high risk of mountain sickness will all be worth it.

Thank you from both of us for anything you can donate towards Neve and others wishes this year, we appreciate it. xxx

RCN 1193000
The Genie’s Wish is a UK newly registered charity whose mission is to enhance the lives of people aged 0-40years, living in England and Wales, who are suffering from a critical or terminal illness or living with a life-limiting medical condition. Our purpose is to bring respite and joy into the lives of our beneficiaries and their families, by providing them with a life-changing wish, experience, or ongoing opportunity. We also provide wish experiences, bespoke events and activities for young carers, aged 5-16, in recognition of the bravery, kindness and selflessness they display daily by caring for a family member.
