Story
Marshall is a dog that loves a cuddle and to amble at his own pace on a walk, flopping down when he couldn’t possibly go any further. But more than anything, Marshall loves food. He'd happily share your lunch, breakfast, and dinner, too! Yet, much to his dismay, he’s now on a strict diet.
You see, Marshall is on a weight loss mission. He came into our care weighing a hefty 19.2kg, and while he's already shed an impressive 2kg, he still has a long road ahead. Pugs should weigh under 10kg, which means this sweet boy needs to lose over 7kg to reach a healthy size. This will be no small feat, but with your support, it’s possible, and more vital now than ever before.
Like many pugs, Marshall struggles with something called Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome. His flat face, a characteristic that many find endearing, unfortunately leads to health problems. Marshall’s narrow nostrils make it hard for him to breathe, and to fix this, he needs a rhinoplasty. This surgery will help open his airways and let him breathe freely. But, before he can have the operation and dental work, Marshall needs to lose at least 4 kg. It’s crucial that he is healthy enough for general anaesthesia, which makes his weight loss journey even more important.
Marshall came to us from a previous owner who adored him but couldn’t provide the care he needed. This tough decision was made out of love, and now it’s up to us—and you—to ensure Marshall gets the care he deserves.
Marshall’s his long-term care, special diet, and vet bills are adding up. We expect Marshall’s weight-loss journey to take around 10 months, and we need your help to get him through it.
Marshall’s sweet personality deserves to shine without the weight of health problems slowing him down. Every donation brings him one step closer to that happy, healthy future he deserves. Will you help Marshall breathe easy again?
