How can you measure the success of music? If even one person picks up an instrument, and learns to play in a band instead of doing drugs, the program will be a success. Countless students are in music classes every year, and they see cognitive growth, social safety and acceptance, and happy memories.

We are starting the rebuilding of the entire school band inventory. The entire project will cost up to $100,000 for up-to-date equipment that the students can use for 40-50 years into the future.

We have received generous support from select members of our community but today we need you. With $6,500 we could fund the purchase of two new Paxman Academy French Horns. ($2,995 a piece + shipping costs).

Our current school music inventory is in woeful condition. The bulk of the inventory is approximately 40 years old. About 10% of it is up to 70 years old. There is currently only one working french horn in the inventory.

Typically, there are up to 8 horn players in a 5-12 program. Most high school music pieces require 4 french horn players. With 3, we could become 75% compliant with literature demands. In the future, we plan to raise enough money to purchase all 8 horns for the program.

Marlette bands stand to gain ground in contests and festivals, so in essence, the whole community. Everyone that attends our concerts will enjoy the change, and that can all happen with your gift today.
