Breaking News... We have just heard about two beautiful donkeys "Marla and "Peaches" (mother and daughter, aged 21 and 17 years old) who are currently in a holding pen with the "meat man" in France. Unbelievably, they were taken there when their owners could no longer care for them. They are due to make the horrific journey to the abattoir in Italy, where they will be slaughtered, in just ONE WEEK'S TIME.

We must act fast to save them from certain death, but we urgently need to raise the funds to make this happen.

We really need to get them to a safe-holding as soon as possible, whilst we organise the necessary paperwork to transport them to safety in the UK and give them a forever home. Their transport will cost £2000. Paperwork and veterinary certificates will be around £200 and we will also have to pay for their keep whilst all this is organised. Upon arrival here, their quarantine and initial veterinary and healthcare costs could easily exceed £1000 - we know they are underweight, their hooves are too long and photographs show that they undoubtedly need dental work, so we are also anticipating expensive farrier and equine dentist fees.
