Story
Since 2010, M&S and Macmillan have been working together to help make a huge difference for people living with cancer in local communities across the UK.
The enthusiasm, support and hard work of M&S employees and customers has raised an incredible £19.4 million for Macmillan to date. In 2019 alone, the fantastic £2.1 million raised by M&S was enough to fund around 37 Macmillan professionals for one year, from nurses and occupational therapists to psychologists and doctors to provide vital support for people living with cancer.
With almost 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today, the demand for Macmillan professionals has never been higher. That figure is set to rise to four million in 2030.
We are all affected by cancer and your donations mean Macmillan can be there for more people from the day of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond, to help them take back control in their life and make them feel like themselves again.
With Coronavirus having had a huge impact on fundraising events, your support has never been more important, as we safeguard against cancer becoming the forgotten C. With social distancing measures in place, this year, we're challenging M&S colleagues to get creative with their fundraising and activities, using virtual challenges and digital channels to make the most of their efforts this year!
2020 could be the year we hit the phenomenal £20 million milestone together but we can't do it without your help! So, don your green shirts, wigs and tutus, set up your JustGiving page and start your fundraising for Macmillan!
Thank you so much for your invaluable support.
