Despite saying never again, when I was given the opportunity to run the 2024 Paris marathon on 7th April I just couldn’t resist!

The mighty Oaks staff have voted, and I’ll be running to raise funds both to decorate our new sensory room and to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK. MDUK is a charity very close to our hearts as The Oaks are currently working with twin boys who are battling this devastating disease.

The boys have Duchenne muscular dystrophy which is a condition that causes skeletal and heart muscle weakness that quickly gets worse with time. There’s currently no cure, so treatment involves managing symptoms and improving quality of life.

We wish to raise funds to help the boys and their family and to help fund research to prevent other families having to live through similar heart-breaking experiences.
