Can Barclays make it a hatrick?
After the success of the last two Manchester Bank Derbys we have organised a third! Barclays are leading the score sheets by winning the last two games, can Santander bring it back a peg?
On Sunday 27th May 2018 at 12pm the Manchester Bank Derby is making a return for the 3rd year running, the family friendly event has gained some reputation for its rivalry between the two high street banks and best of all they raise thousands of pounds for charity.
The charity football match is being held at FC United of Manchester, before kick off at 1pm we will be holding a minutes silence before kick off in remembrance of those affected by the Manchester Attack.
There will be a FREE buffet in the bar area for after the match where you can place your bids on some amazing auction items available. There will also be a raffle with lots of amazing prizes.
Our key sponsors this year are: Williams Deli, BR Boxing and Fitness and A W Photography. Dogs are welcome to this event but they must be kept on a lead at all times.
Money raised from sponsorship of players will be matched by Barclays. All funds raised from the event help contribute towards our life saving awareness campaigns and the support we offer to males that have been or are going through a diagnosis of Testicular Cancer.
What happened last year?
Barclays took the title for the second year running with a winning score of 5-3 against Santander. Barclays had two special guests on their side, Steven Bartlett (CEO of Social Chain Group) and Brian 'Lion' Rose (Professional Boxer). Santander had Martin Robert Hall in their defence.
As the event was not long after the Manchester Attack 22/05/17 we donated 50% of the proceeds from the day to the Manchester Attack Fund through the JustGiving page set up by Steve Bartlett, CEO of Social Chain.
We auctioned items such as a full team signed Manchester United shirt, signed Sir Alex Fergurson autobiography, signed Ricky Hatton boxing glove, signed Gary Neville autobiography, a full team signed Manchester United football and a signed Manchester City shirt.
