Story
Every February break, Middlebury Alternative Break (MAlt) brings students to communities across North and Central America. Working with local community leaders, students participate in service projects while learning about the systems that shape community realities. The trips are conceived of, designed and lead by a pair of student leaders who have spent the summer and fall shaping the alternative break experience. This year student leaders have designed and are facilitating six unique experiences for their peers. Each leader brings their passion and expertise to leading an engaging, educational, and transformative experience. A MAlt trip is not only an opportunity to learn about a community outside of Vermont but is also an opportunity for students to learn about themselves and develop skills in civic engagement.
MAlt student leaders are committed to keeping these trips affordable for participants covering all travel expenses from when they leave Middlebury College to their return to campus a week later. By contributing to the MAlt fundraising efforts you are helping to keep these trips accessible to all students at Middlebury College.
