Story
The Mallory's Joy English Scholarship Program (MJESP) is an opportunity for students attending The LifeLink School to study advanced English at the top language school in Nicaragua. Each year 10th grade students apply to receive a scholarship to MJESP program and will study into their senior year of high school.
Currently we have 13 students enrolled in the program. This year we had 16 qualified applicants and we need your help to make this dream a reality.
Why is it important to learn English in Nicaragua? It's simple! Learning English opens many job opportunities because it is a global language, spoken by 1.35 billion people around the world and is the universal language of business.
A bilingual student in Nicaragua can increase their earning potential significantly. This is just another way that LifeLink is creating different pathways to overcome poverty, ensure success and make a positive impact on their future.
Although all students at The LifeLink School learn English starting in preschool, this program takes it to the next level.
It costs approximately $200 per student per level (3 months) and the program has a total of 14 levels. This program is offered at no cost to the students, thanks to your generous donations.
We have a new group of student applicants this year, 16 to be exact, and for each student to complete the entire program it costs approximately $2800 each. That's only $67 each month!
Please consider joining us on this journey either by donating directly or signing up to be a fundraiser and share Mallory's Joy with your family and friends.
Who is Mallory? Mallory's Joy is inspired by the vision of Mallory Gabard Cruz, who tragically lost her battle with cancer in February 2017. Mallory was responsible for starting the ESOL program at The LifeLink School. We want to honor her life by letting her legacy live on through the students who are dedicated to studying languages. This was Mallory's heart. This was Mallory's Joy - to help others overcome obstacles in life and make the world a better place.
We have the Joy! Will you join with us?
