Story
During the month of Ramadhan, we would normally expect to raise upwards of around £80,000 to fund our ongoing building project and all our services and activities throughout the year.
This Ramadhan, however, is extremely different to any Ramadhan we have witnessed. Due to the impact of Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown restrictions, the Masjid has been closed for a number of weeks which has meant a significant drop in the Masjid's income and donations. As these restrictions are still in place at the time of entering the blessed month of Ramadhan, we face missing out on the most important and busiest time of year for donations; donations that are vital in supporting our community and the work that we do throughout the year.
We must raise these funds urgently to continue our work and therefore we appeal to all our brothers and sisters to take advantage of this blessed month, where deeds are multiplied many times over, and to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in donating generously during Ramadhan.
Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most generous person, and he used to become more so (generous) particularly in the month of Ramadhan, more generous than the fast wind in doing good. [al-Bukhari]
