Story

Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your local community? Look no further than Glossopdale Furniture Project! Since 1997, this registered charity has been supporting over 150 individuals and families in need across the High Peak each year by providing emergency packs of furniture and everyday essentials to those who have been homeless and given a new tenancy but none of the necessary items to set up home.

But GFP can't do it alone - they rely on donations of unwanted furniture and household items to maintain the stock, which is reclaimed, restored, refurbished and up-cycled for sale. By supporting GFP, you're not only helping those in need but also benefiting the local environment by diverting over 100 tonnes of good usable furniture from landfill annually. And if you're looking for a way to get involved, consider sponsoring the 'Making Ends Meet' Challenge - a sponsored walk around the High Peak connecting towns and villages where GFP regularly delivers emergency packs of furniture.

The walk takes place from Friday 23rd June to Sunday 25th June, starting at Tintwistle in the north and Tideswell in the south of High Peak and meets in the middle at Whaley Bridge on Sunday 25th June.

All proceeds from the challenge will go towards providing essential household items to help families in need start up a home.

Support the GFP team in making a difference in your community today!
