Help us make Gerry Merry Again

Gerry has had a hard life. He is malnourished, has lumps, rotten teeth, a missing toe and potentially so much more. Can you help us to help him and at 14 years old finally give him the happiness he deserves.

Story

Hi, I'm Gerry. Let me introduce myself and tell you a bit about me, because as you can see, I'm in need of a bit of help.

My name is Gerald but my friends call me Gerry. I am a 14 year old Staffy in a bit of a bad way. After 14 years I am ready for some stability and a home for life where I will be well looked after. I came into NAWT Cornwall nearly a week ago and the team were quite shocked when they saw me. They have told me that they will look after me, get me back to health and find me my forever home. I cant believe it. After all this time.

After my first vet check it was decided that I need full blood tests to see what's going on under the surface, a castrate for medical reasons, full dental work as my teeth and very rotten, flea treatment, worming treatment, vaccinations, I have lots of little lumps and bumps and a missing toe, malnourished, dehydrated and i have a small heart murmur. Apparently im quite stinky at the moment too but personally i dont believe a word of it :P

As you know all of this costs money. The team aren't sure what the blood tests will come back with but we do know that my ongoing care and vet bills are mounting up. We set up this page so that those who wish to make a contribution towards my time in rescue are able to. Once we know a bit more about what I need the team will update this. Im quite a pricey boy for NAWT Cornwall but the team have told me they don't care about that. They just want to make me better. I have also had some presents brought to the centre! For me! I cant believe so many people care about me.

My first night in rescue I was sad, lost and didn't know what was going on. But you know what, it's actually quite nice here. Im getting good food (and plenty of it!) walks, baths (which im not totally sold on yet!)and plenty of love.

Once im ready, the team will find me my forever home, and apparently that will be the last time I need to move home. I cant wait. A home to call my own and feel safe in. After all this time.

Love, hugs and kisses. Gerry XOXO
