Many families in Malawi are currently suffering from significant food shortages and poverty due to a weakening of the economy and a poor harvest following severe storms and flooding earlier this year. Sadly, many are struggling to provide for their children. The sharp increase in the cost of formula milk means some extended families cannot afford to look after orphaned or abandoned babies. Without the support of Open Arms these vulnerable babies would not survive.
