Story
Maggie's Swansea needs your help now more than ever.
We are here giving the best possible support to people with cancer and their families at this incredibly difficult time.
We receive no government funding and are proud of the strong community of people who support our centres with fundraising events and activities which enable us to run Maggies Swansea on a daily basis. The majority of these are now cancelled or postponed so our fundraising income will be significantly affected over the coming months. However, we know the need for cancer support and care will be even greater as treatments are delayed due to the impact of coronavirus.
One of Maggie's centre visitors, Ken said "Living with cancer is difficult at the best of times but having to self-isolate while also thinking about how the crisis may affect my treatment and appointments has made me really stressed and fearful. The only way I have managed to cope is by speaking to Maggie's experts over the phone or by email, they keep me calm and make me feel there is still hope."
We know lockdown has been difficult for everyone, especially those living with cancer. We are happy to say that we are seeing people face-to-face. We also still have one to one phone, skype, facetime and email support. Our online community, run by psychologists, cancer support specialists and benefits advisors, is there to answer questions directly for those continuing to stay at home.
Everything we do depends on your kindness. We will always be there for people with cancer but we need you alongside us.
Anything you can do to contribute will be making a real difference.
Please do whatever you can to help by supporting us. Thank you.
