The Maggie's 500 challenge is a true test of endurance, requiring participants to ride 500 miles (800km) over 5 days throughout the mountainous Cairngorms National Park. Riders will need to climb over the height of Everest, ascending some 30,000ft (9000m+) in 5 days including demanding ascents of Glenshee, The Lecht and Cairngorm Ski Centres. The "Queen" stage and most challenging day of the Maggie's 500 involves a 104mi/167km circuit of the National Park with over 8,000ft (2,500m) of climbing over the two highest roads in the UK.

Averaging 100 miles each day makes the Maggie's 500 one of the world's hardest charity cycle events.

Maggie's Highlands provides free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their family and friends across the whole of the Highlands. Maggie's offers a programme of support that has been shown to strengthen physical and emotional well being. Built in the grounds of Raigmore Hospital, the centre is a warm and welcoming place with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need to find their way through cancer.

Maggie's Highlands cost £480,000 a year to run and relies solely on voluntary donations to deliver its incredible, high quality and unique programme of support. We are continuing to support people living with cancer at this really difficult time, only as of now we are only doing so via telephone, email and our online community. We have been supporting people with cancer for 25 years and people need our support now more than ever.
