Story
The MACC Fund is pleased to announce the playing of the 5th annual Chicagoland Ringer on Monday May 12th, 2025 at Bull Valley Golf Club; a 100 Holes-of-Golf Marathon to raise critical funding for childhood cancer and related blood disorders research!
The name 'The Ringer' is symbolic of a child going through the unthinkable journey of battling cancer. Upon the completion of a successful childhood cancer or blood disorder treatment protocol, children are given the chance to physically 'RING THE BELL', a bell which hangs from the wall in cancer institutes across the country, to signify they have won their battle!
In just four short years, the Chicagoland Ringer and its participants have raised over $400,000 for childhood cancer and related blood disorders research; thanks to YOUR generosity! These funds are used to execute cutting edge research projects in conjunction with the MACC Fund's Medical Partners: the Medical College of Wisconsin, Children's Wisconsin, the UW Carbone Cancer Center, and the Marshfield Clinic. Each of these facilities are nationally recognized as leading pediatric cancer institutes.
Since the MACC Fund's inception in 1976, overall cure rates have risen from 20% to nearly 85% today! While this is excellent progress, the MACC Fund will not rest until NO child is lost to this terrible disease.
