The City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Band M1 are delighted to have qualified for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain in 2022, held at London's prestigious Royal Albert Hall. We are one of four bands who will be representing Wales at the event, but we need a little bit of help to get there.

For many players in the band, this will be their first experience of playing on the Royal Albert Hall stage - a once in a lifetime opportunity!

The band are fully self funded and therefore will require some financial help in order to get to London. Each member of the band will be making an individual contribution, but we urgently need to raise funds in order to cover a number of costs including accommodation, coach hire for travel to and from London, plus the hire of a rehearsal venue once we are in the capital.

Any help that can be afforded would be hugely appreciated by the band and we hope to do Wales proud on what will be a very special day for the organisation.

Over the summer, each band member will be taking on the challenge of walking the distance from our rehearsal facility in Tongwynlais Village Hall to the Royal Albert Hall. That's 148 miles in 10 weeks! Please consider sponsoring our members to complete this mammoth challenge.
