After 17 years of volunteer fundraising the time has come to hang up that hat! I'll be handing over the Fundraising role to someone else but still be around to encourage and advise them and you to keep fundraising for our brilliant wee charity.

I will continue to manage our Charity but from end 2023 I won't be personally actively fundraising (I am not sure that is a good sentence but you get the drift).

Help me make this last year of fundraising super special, super fun and super successful. I have said I want to raise £250k because that is what it costs to run our Ripple Retreat, provide all our services and run the charity - our energy costs have tripled recently!

How am I going to raise that kind of money? Well, I am going to enlist as many people's help as I can. I will set myself a personal walking challenge - to be confirmed, sell items online and all proceeds will come here, save 50p pieces in a smartie tube (yes I ate the darned smarties) and encourage 99 others to join me in that challenge. Already our Young Ambassadors are signed up to that challenge. I am organising Lynne's Last Blingo in May and the proceeds from that will count towards this fundraising target, we have our Ball in November and proceeds from that will count too. Why not take a table at the Ball? Or donate a prize?

I have already had designed 2023 Christmas card and if I can, I wilI find a sponsor to pay for the printing so that all proceeds from sales count towards my target.

Why? Ian and I set up It's Good 2 Give in 2010 and look how far we have come. Its Good 2 Give is committed to supporting young cancer patients and their families. We recognise the struggles that patients and families face during, and after, cancer treatment. Thats why we offer both physical and mental support to get them through this difficult time from practical patient packs to a peaceful escape to the stunning Ripple Retreat. Most recently we have (are) funding four pyschologist posts for five years - two in NHS lothian and two in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. With your support, we can continue to deliver on our promise to support young patients across Scotland.
