Story
St Mary's Church is a 12th century Grade 1 Listed building which has stood at the heart of this tiny Oxfordshire village for over 900 years. It still is a place of prayer, sanctuary, welcome and worship for all who come here, witnessing to the healing love of God for all people.
St Mary's serves the community, offering pastoral care, baptisms, weddings, funerals, Sunday worship and big festival celebrations at Christmas, Easter, and Harvest. We visit the sick and housebound and those in hospital, praying for all in need. St Mary's church is a place of peace and tranquility for all, and is open every day of the year.
This church also has an unusual history associated with it, as the Jesuit Edmund Campion preached at St Mary's church on 14th and 15th July 1581 and was arrested nearby in Lyford Grange very soon after.
All our income comes from donations and fundraising - your help is greatly appreciated in helping to keep this ancient place of peace and prayer open, thriving, and serving the community.
