Story
In April 2023, LSU Rag's DARE Team will sled through the Arctic in support of Alzheimer's Research UK!
Since Alzheimer's disease was first diagnosed in 1901, Loughborough University was established, astronauts have travelled to the moon, research has helped double cancer survival rates, and a diagnosis of HIV is no longer a death sentence. Yet, we still don't have any treatments to slow or stop the diseases that cause dementia.
Alzheimer's Research UK (ARUK) want to see a world free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia and research is the answer.
ARUK are the UK's leading dementia research charity, powering world-class research studies to beat dementia sooner. Backed by passionate scientists and supporters, ARUK are challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting the big thinkers in the field, and funding the innovative science that will deliver a cure.
Through these important strands of work, ARUK are bringing about breakthroughs that will change lives. One in three babies born today will die with dementia but with the support of Loughborough Rag, we can be the last generation to fear dementia.
