Story

Lottie is 6 years old and was born with a very rare genetic chromosome disorder called 1q21.1 microduplication. For Lottie, this condition causes developmental delays, heart problems, an enlarged head, abnormalities in her facial features, and issues with her muscles and bones.

Lottie struggles with all these challenges, especially the pain, which can range from mild to severe. She finds it difficult to do many things a child her age should be able to do, which can be very upsetting for her. We are hoping to raise enough money to provide Lottie with hydrotherapy—a therapy she loves—that will help strengthen her muscles and ease her pain.

Lottie absolutely loves swimming and being in the water, so water-based therapy would be an amazing experience for her. It is a fantastic form of exercise that doesn’t cause her pain, making it perfect for her needs.

Lottie was diagnosed with her condition at around the age of 2 after missing important developmental milestones and experiencing numerous health issues. She has been through so much in her little life and truly deserves the chance to be pain-free, strengthen her muscles, and enjoy an activity that makes her happy.

Lottie and her family will be incredibly thankful if you can help her access hydrotherapy. It will not only bring her joy but also improve her overall health and well-being.

7.5% of all donations to Tree of Hope in relation to this appeal will be allocated to the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope to cover our core operating costs.

If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, then the funds will be used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objects. If in those circumstances we are unable to use all or part of the funds for the benefit of our child in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objectives, then any funds that cannot be used will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope.
