Story
Bismillah hir-rahma nir-raheem.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it."
The Lote Tree Initiative is a successful, unique and well-loved madrassa in the heart of the Burton community. Widely respected and much loved ethos of a madrassa that is truly for everyone regardless of background, religious persuasion, or affluence has become a hallmark of our success. We are a non-profit organisation and we pride ourselves on running free events where possible to allow for more people to benefit.
Lote Tree has always been more than just a traditional madrassa. From our humble beginnings in 2016, the madrassa has blossomed into a 7 class, multi-dimensional set-up, teaching Quran with tajweed, salah and Islamic beliefs including fard 'ayn knowledge in a practical and child-friendly manner. We have additional classes catering for the needs of teenagers and intermittent classes for adults too. To date we have just over 100 students enrolled and more on the waiting list.
Our contemporary outlook honours the traditions that gave birth to it, and in addition to traditional Qur'an classes, we have benefitted our local community through popular workshops, entertainment nights, sunnah sporting, trampolining trips, orienteering trips, dhikr and Burda gatherings and theatrical performances.
In order to continue this vital work in the way of Allah, we need your help.
During this blessed month of Ramadan, we would like to make a humble request for you to support this initiative - the community madrassa, *your* madrassa .
Your donation, however big or small, will enable us to continue and grow our humble efforts and preserve and protect the love of the Qur'an in the tender hearts of our young Muslims.
This will be a sadaqah jariyah for you which means a continuous, flowing and ongoing charity. It is one of the most rewarding acts we can do in our lives as the benefits of giving this type of charity can be reaped in this lifetime and long after we have passed.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him. (Muslim)
Thank you for your on-going support and we hope inshaAllah to continue to serve our community for years to come with your help.
