Story

The NSPCC

For 130 years, they have been leading the fight to protect children of all ages across the UK. The NSPCC help to prevent the devastating impact of abuse, offering children therapeutic, educational and specialist support. With our help, the NSPCC can start to rebuild their lives.

They believe that every child has the right to be safe. They make sure that children know that abuse is never their fault, and that they have the right to remain safe.

Childline

The NSPCC's free Childline service is here for children every day of the year, 24 hours per day, and is run by incredible volunteers and senior staff. It gives children and young people a voice when no one else is listening. Whatever problems or dangers they face, the NSPCC gives them somewhere to turn for support when they need it.

Childline delivered an average of around 17,000 counselling sessions a month during the first year of coronavirus restrictions.

Mental and emotional health remain the top concern for children and young people contacting Childline.

How are Loro Piana supporting?

On an average day, a child calls Childline every 25 seconds. They might want to talk about anything, from the pressure of school work, to domestic abuse, or suicidal thoughts. For the NSPCC to be there for children and run Childline for a day, it costs £30,000.

Loro Piana have set the goal of fundraising £30,000 this year, to support One Unforgettable Day of Childline.

It takes a lot of courage for a child to contact Childline and open up about their feelings. But every one of them will find a listening ear, see a way forward and change their life for the better.

Ive had an amazing conversation with a Childline counsellor. She just made everything so much better and now I know what I need to do so that I can cope when I feel really bad. She has saved my life. Girl, aged 14
