Story
The Log Cabin Charity is a place where 300 local children and young people with additional needs or disabilities can socialise, grow and have fun alongside their mainstream peers.
Established in 1980 by Margaret Lorde, a former Mayor of Ealing, our independently-run charity offers affordable after school care and school holiday activities, providing respite for parents and carers. With a strong focus on inclusivity, we welcome all children regardless of ability or emotional, physical, behavioural and learning disabilities, allowing them to play and make new friends, and preventing those with additional needs from becoming socially isolated. We feel that creating a space where children can play together leads to more resilient and creative communities.
This year we have faced unprecedented challenges. We want to ensure we can continue to offer our services to the many local families that depend on our services in the community. We are a small charity, with a big heart and we impact hundreds of families in Ealing. Our services ensure children with additional needs and disabilities can enjoy after school and holiday clubs and make friends within the community as well as offer respite and short term breaks for families.
Without donations, our crucial work cannot continue. As a charity, we rely on grants, community fundraising and rentals to keep our operations running. This year, we have faced an unimaginable drop in revenue, but kept our doors open to help the most vulnerable members of our community.
We need your help now. Any amount you can donate is much appreciated.
