Story

Staff at Northwick Park, St Mark's, Ealing, Central Middlesex Hospitals, and across our community services, are facing the most unprecedented challenges as they fight COVID-19.

We, LNWH Charity, are standing by our hospitals and providing extra support - so they can continue to offer the best possible care for patients and their families. We are working with our local communities to support our amazing NHS staff. Over the last year, your support has meant a great deal to our staff at such a challenging time and really helped with boosting morale and providing some added extras.

With your help we are able to fund staff and patient welfare, equipment, facilities and research to make the best care possible for all across North West London.

How we have helped so far

Since March 2020, we have received incredible support from our donors and community. Your generous gifts have enabled us to provide urgent support for our hospitals in three key areas: supporting staff wellbeing, extending patient welfare and, improving our hospitals technology and infrastructure. In 2020 the Charity:

- Funded life-saving equipment such as ventilators and haemofiltration machines for critically ill patients.

- Curated a staff well-being space that allowed our staff rest and comfort during long shifts.

- We coordinated refreshments such as coffee, tea, biscuits, nuts, crisps and chocolates. We also shared care packages including hand creams, facial creams, hand wash, shower gels, socks, sleeping masks, blankets and pillows, all aimed at making the lives of our staff more comfortable as they fought the pandemic.

- In January-February 2021, upon staff's demand, we are supporting our Health & Well-being by sponsoring snacks and refreshments such as healthy snack bars, tea, coffee, and water to COVID-wards to support our staff tackling the second wave.

We all welcome the roll-out of the vaccine that is now underway across our Trust, but the hospitals we support are now facing their toughest ever test this winter. The ongoing pandemic is creating incredibly significant additional pressures. Together, we can provide staff with the support they need for their physical and mental well-being during - and after - these extraordinarily tough times.

You can do your bit. Please make a donation through this page or by calling 020 8869 3367 and support your local NHS hospital at this most crucial of times. Anything we raise over and above what might be needed in the current crisis will go towards helping our hospitals continue to provide exceptional care in the future. Large or small, any gift you give will make a difference.

Thank you.
