Story
2024 is an exciting time for The Grange Centre in Bookham, Surrey.
The Grange has been granted planning permission to build an Outdoor Learning Community Centre with a café, shop, pottery studio and community room. The centre will be open 7 days a week and provide training, work experience and paid employment for people we support. It will also provide a new community centre for the area.
Movable partitions in our Community room will allow us to accommodate bookings for various events and meetings with the added benefit of the new kitchen facilities. Plus the new centre will also incorporate Bookham's first sophisticated “Changing Places” toilet facility for adults with more complex disabilities.
The shop will sell a range of items from our award-winning garden and our creative workshops. The cafe will serve our homemade baked goods and offer Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Teas all made on-site. The new pottery studio will greatly increase the number of sessions we can offer each week expanding the learning opportunities for the people we support. Plus It will be available for hire evenings and weekends to the public and groups.
BUT... to make this happen we need your support. Our amazing team of runners are training hard and we are grateful for their commitment to raising funds towards the project. There is a long way to go before we can reach our overall target but this event is a great starting point.
