Story
What is Bliss Little Lights?
Parents often tell us that spending time in neonatal care can feel isolating, especially with the current situation.
Bliss Little Lights is a sponsored walk with torches and lanterns to light the way and show families in neonatal care that they are not alone.
You will be joining super fundraisers up and down the country taking part in sponsored walks and lighting up the night for the 100,000 babies born premature or sick each year.
When can I do a Little Lights walk?
You can do your Little Lights Walks at any time during the winter season. The idea is that through the shorter days we can light up the night across the UK for babies born premature or sick.

How are Bliss shining a light for families in neonatal care?
COVID-19 hasn't stopped babies being born premature or sick.
But with access to units restricted, it has stopped their parents being able to be by their side. At what is already a particularly anxious time, parents aren't able to talk to other families on the unit to share what they're going through and to know they're not alone.
We spent hours in a dark neonatal unit researching procedures, diagnoses, prognoses, and while there were a lot of scary stories online, Bliss always had accurate and trustworthy information. We got leaflets and information from Bliss on everything from Olivers birth to coming home on oxygen, which really helped. -Oliver's Mum
Since March, we have been working to keep all of our information up to date, and ensure parents can access it. We know from parents like Oliver's Mum that having clear and trusted information is vital for families with babies in neonatal care at this time.
We're supporting neonatal units to allow unrestricted access for both parents, as well as campaigning for parents to be prioritised for COVID-19 testing to reduce the time they are separated from their babies.
Our email and video calls with Bliss Champion volunteers provide families with somewhere to turn for practical information and emotional support.
With your support, we can keep lighting the way for babies.
