Water always played an important role in Linda's life. A celebrated dowser, passionate scuba diver and supporter of Village Water for over a decade, she always knew how life changing water could be.
She lived in South Africa for many years with her children, Lucie and Tom, and whilst they experienced the vibrant culture, the colourful clothes and characters they also saw first-hand how difficult it is for some families and communities to simply get a drink of water. Completely different from life in the UK.
Linda spent much of her spare time raising awareness and funds for Village Water and now Lucie and Tom would like to ask her friends and family, new and old, to help fund a community water point in her honour.

UPDATE 27/01/2022 From Beth at Village Water:
We know that you will all be so proud to hear that, thanks to donations through this Just Giving page, for Toms marathon, plus gifts directly to Village Water and gift aid, you have raised the money to full fund water, hygiene & sanitation in a village in Zambia, in memory of Linda.
Chisengamanga, in Kapiri Province, home to 435 people, who previouly used unsafe water from an unprotected well for all their daily needs.
Thanks to you all, in celebration of Linda and her incredible life, hundreds of people now have access to life changing facilities. Safe water, toilets and somewhere to wash hands means health will dramatically improve: the children of Chisengamanga will be able to go to school, adults will have the chance to earn a fair wage, and there will be more freedom, dignity and opportunity for everyone.
And to top it off, we have just received photos from the ground of our partners installing the new water point! (see photos below) I hope you enjoy seeing the real difference each and every one of your donations has made.
What next? The water point has been installed and the community has learnt more about hygiene practices to keep them, and future generations, safe and healthy. They were taught basic repair skills so they can maintain their pump, and if they need extra support can contact the local manual drillers who installed it. Our local partners ECHO will continue to monitor pump functionality for at least 5 years.
We will fix either a plaque or inscribe 'In memory of Linda' on the pump.
From the community of Chisengamanga, the Village Water team, and Tom and Lucie, thank you. This would not have been possible without all of you. A wonderful project, in memory of a wonderful woman who did so very much for Village Water in her lifetime - and the impact of this will continue for years to come.
