Story

A Huge Thank You!

We’re thrilled to announce that the Light Up McCormick launch was a shining success! Despite the rain, spirits stayed high as we raised over $28,000 and lit an impressive 16 trees. Residents, clients, and families enjoyed musical entertainment, festive cookie decorating, cheerful caroling, and a special visit from Santa—all thanks to the outstanding efforts of Fanshawe College’s Recreation and Leisure students.

Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support and for making this holiday campaign truly magical! With the support of our generous donors, we have raised an impressive $37,387 (and counting) in support of the Learning and Development Center at McCormick Care Group. Thanks to your contributions, we’ve also been able to light up 20 out of 28 trees!

Make a Difference and Donate

Please continue to help us Spark the Spirit of Giving as we strive to reach our goal of $50,000 by January 31st.

A Brighter Future Starts With You

For many of us, the holidays are a time of warmth, celebration, and togetherness. But for those living with dementia and their caregivers, these moments can often be overshadowed by the challenges they face.

That’s why, Light Up McCormick is about more than just holiday decorations—it’s about bringing light and joy into the lives of those who need it most.

Your donation will help illuminate 28 trees at the front of McCormick and directly support the highest-priority needs of McCormick Care Group including projects like the Learning and Development Centre, where we’re training the next generation of healthcare professionals in long-term and dementia care.

Every light represents hope and compassion for our residents and their families, and your donation fuels that brighter future. — Michelle Hancock, Executive Director, McCormick Care Foundation

Your Donation at Work

Every dollar you give brings us closer to reaching our $50,000 goal and lighting up all 28 trees. But more than that, your donation supports our Learning and Development Centre, home to Ontario’s pioneering Long-Term Care simulation lab.

This lab is transforming the future of healthcare by preparing personal support workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to meet the growing needs of our aging population.

“The care of tomorrow starts today, and your support is helping us build a workforce that will make a real difference.” — Karen Johnson, CEO, McCormick Care Group

Let's spark the spirit of giving and brighten the lives of those who need it most.

Thank you for being a part of Light Up McCormick!
