Story
Lifeshare is Manchesters oldest charity dedicated to supporting homeless and vulnerable people in Greater Manchester. Established in 1984 by a group of volunteers who recognised the lack of support for the citys increasing number of rough sleepers and Lifeshare began. In the following decades, Lifeshare initiatives would become fundamental to the efforts in tackling homelessness in Manchester.
The first point of contact is with people on the streets, offering practical assistance, support, and information. From this point, we offer continued assistance that enables people to secure suitable accommodation, support them in maintaining their tenancies, and help them to access initiatives that carry their lives forward.
Due to COVID our in-person fundraising has been halted in 2020, but the demand for our services has only grown. With the nationwide band on evictions ending on September 24th, 2020 we foresee another increase in the demand for our services. We are reaching out to the amazing Manchester community for assistance so we can continue our vital work in the local community. All donations make a difference, large or small, and we are grateful for your support here and when sharing our cause with your friends and family.
