Story

On 10th September, Storm Daniel made landfall in the northeast of Libya. The severe weather caused damns to burst, triggering devastating flooding. It is estimated over 4,000 people have died, with thousands more still missing.

Over 43,000 people have been displaced - 40% of whom are children - many of them staying in overcrowded camps with limited access to clean water and sanitation, drastically increasing the risk of outbreaks of infectious diseases including cholera and typhoid. Cases of diarrhoea have risen from 5 to 300 in just one week due to contamination of water.

IHP is working with our in-country trusted partner, International Medical Corps to meet the most urgent health and medical needs. We need your support today to help get critical medicines to those affected.

Over 63% of healthcare services in Libya are now non-functional or under immense strain as medical needs keep growing. With a lack of medical personnel and medical supplies running low, lives are at risk. The need is urgent.

Help us to relieve some of this pressure today by sending urgently needed medical support. Together, we can make a difference and offer hope to those who are hurting.

Your donation will help where the need is greatest. Any money not spent during this response will be used to support the next, extending the impact of our disaster response fund to help more people worldwide.
