Story

GISDA is a charity established in 1986 working with homeless and vulnerable young people in North West Wales.

Our LGBTQ+ youth club has been running since 2017, reflecting the need to give space for young people who identify themselves as LGBTQ+ to be themselves and to have fun. The informal club was established as a meeting place for young LGBT+ people to feel comfortable and happy. It is a place where they can support each other, express themselves freely, and identify with others.

Although the club has been in existence for 3 years it has been severely under resourced. Kiri Pritchard Maclean and her colleagues helped us raise funding to employ 1 member of staff for 1 day per week following a successful comedy night she arranged in Pontio, Bangor which we will be forever grateful.

This enabled us to work with the young people on a lottery application. We were then fortunate to receive funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to employ a member of staff which will help us to develop clubs in other areas so that young people dont have to travel 50 miles to their nearest club.

We cannot over emphasize the importance of the club for the young people from the LGBTQ+ community it makes a world of difference to their health, happiness and wellbeing and assist them to flourish into wonderful and confident young people which we are extremely proud of.

Why do we need further funding?

The young people have stated many times that they would like to do much more and we are asking for your help to support us to be able to fund some of the following listed below. We know we are asking a lot but we believe young people from the LGBTQ+ community deserves the best and we want to play our part to make sure that we try our best on their behalf. All these things cost money and we need additional funding to able to achieve our goals and dreams.

Arrange our own local mini Pride combined with a conference to raise awareness and invite others to give presentations

Arrange a special LGBT Talent Show / Christmas ball

Buy new equipment for activities at the club

Music and drama workshops are excellent ways to develop confidence and self-esteem.

Arrange a trip so that young people can attend other Pride events and other conference to help inspire and open their doors to the wonderful world

Raise awareness across schools, colleges and the community

Work with other organisation and bring people together to form a support network

Recruit Volunteers who are also CRUCIAL role models

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this page. At a time where there are so many worthy causes out there we realise this is a big ask, but if you can afford anything it will make a huge difference for us and for young people from the LGBTQ+ community in North West Wales. In return we promise to report back on our activities regularly ion our Facebook page and we also promise to give 100% into this project and ensure that it succeeds and truly makes a difference!

Mae GISDA yn elusen a sefydlwyd ym 1986 sy'n gweithio gyda phobl ifanc ddigartref a bregus yng Ngogledd Orllewin Cymru.

Mae ein clwb ieuenctid LGBTQ + wedi bod yn rhedeg ers 2017, gan adlewyrchu'r angen i roi lle i bobl ifanc sy'n nodi eu hunain fel LGBTQ + fod yn nhw eu hunain ac i gael hwyl. Sefydlwyd y clwb anffurfiol fel man cyfarfod i bobl ifanc LGBT + i deimlo'n gyfforddus ac yn hapus. Mae'n le y gallent gefnogi ei gilydd, mynegi eu hunain yn rhydd, ac uniaethu ag eraill.

Er bod y clwb wedi bodoli ers 3 blynedd, nid oes ganddo ddigon o adnoddau. Fe wnaeth Kiri Pritchard Maclean (Y comedi wraig enwog) ai chydweithwyr ein helpu i godi arian i gyflogi 1aelod o staff am 1 diwrnod yr wythnos drwy gynnal noson gomedi lwyddiannus a drefnwyd yn Pontio, Bangor y byddwn yn ddiolchgar am byth iddi am hynny. Fe wnaeth hyn ein galluogi i weithio gyda'r bobl ifanc ar gais loteri. Yna roeddem yn ffodus i dderbyn cyllid o Gronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol i gyflogi aelod o staff a fydd yn ein helpu i ddatblygu clybiau mewn ardaloedd eraill fel nad oes rhaid i bobl ifanc deithio 50 milltir i'w clwb agosaf.

Ni allwn or-bwysleisio pwysigrwydd y clwb i'r bobl ifanc o'r gymuned LGBTQ + - mae'n gwneud byd o wahaniaeth i'w hiechyd, hapusrwydd a lles ac yn eu cynorthwyo i ddatblygu i fod yn bobl ifanc hyfryd a hyderus yr ydym yn hynod falch ohonynt.

Pam mae angen cyllid pellach arnom?

Mae'r bobl ifanc wedi nodi lawer gwaith yr hoffent wneud llawer mwy ac rydym yn gofyn am eich help i'n cefnogi i allu ariannu rhai o'r canlynol a restrir isod. Rydyn ni'n gwybod ein bod ni'n gofyn llawer ond rydyn ni'n credu bod pobl ifanc o'r gymuned LGBTQ + yn haeddu'r gorau ac rydyn ni am chwarae ein rhan i sicrhau ein bod ni'n ceisio ein gorau ar eu rhan. Mae'r holl bethau hyn yn costio arian ac mae angen cyllid ychwanegol arnom i allu cyflawni ein nodau a'n breuddwydion.

Trefnu Cynhadledd Pride bach lleol ein hunain ynghyd â llwyfan i godi ymwybyddiaeth a gwahodd eraill i roi cyflwyniadau

Trefnu Sioe Dalent LGBTQ+

Prynu offer newydd ar gyfer gweithgareddau yn y clwb

Mae gweithdai cerddoriaeth a drama yn ffyrdd rhagorol o ddatblygu hyder a hunan-barch.

Trefnu trip fel y gall pobl fanc fynychu digwyddiadau Balchder eraill a chynadleddau a all eu hysbrydoli au haddysgu ac agor eu drysau i'r byd

Codi ymwybyddiaeth ar draws ysgolion, colegau a'r gymuned

Gweithio gyda sefydliadau eraill a dod â phobl ynghyd i ffurfio rhwydwaith cefnogol

Recriwtio Gwirfoddolwyr sydd hefyd yn fodelau rôl CWBL ANGENRHEIDIOL

Diolch yn fawr am gymryd yr amser i ddarllen y dudalen hon. Ar adeg lle mae cymaint o achosion teilwng allan yna sylweddolwn fod hwn yn ofyn mawr, ond os gallwch fforddio unrhyw beth bydd yn gwneud gwahaniaeth enfawr i ni ac i bobl ifanc o'r gymuned LGBTQ + yng Ngogledd Orllewin Cymru. Rydym yn addo adrodd yn ôl ar ein gweithgareddau yn rheolaidd ar ein tudalen Facebook ac yn addo rhoi ein gorau glas Ir prosiect hwn!

Diolch yn fawr iawn
