What If ...
You were wrongfully denied medical care?
Or you were a victim of domestic violence and had no place to go?
Or you were illegally evicted from your apartment and facing homelessness?
Where Could You Get Help? Low-income families across New Hampshire fight these battles on their own because despite what we all learned on TV, if you cannot afford an attorney, none will be provided to you in civil court. That means people going to jail, or losing their home, health care, custody of their children or their personal safety just for filling out a form incorrectly! At least four out of five people who need a civil lawyer don't have one.
On October 5, community leaders from across the state will come together for a free, family-friendly day of fun at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, to "level the playing field."
We'll also honor the life and legacy of our friend, Tom Fredenburg. A long-time legal aid attorney at both NHLA and LARC, Tom passed away suddenly in May. Tom worked throughout his career in New Hampshire to protect the rights of low-income and vulnerable people, most recently as an active leader in the Concord Coalition to End Homelessness. Tom never missed a good game of baseball, and he will be sorely missed by his many friends throughout the state and the people in need who relied on his counsel, his good humor and his generosity.
On October 5, join the team that protects everyone's right to justice.
