Story
Please support our bursary fund, which offers financial support to those experiencing mental health difficulties who are unable to access statutory funding and do not have private financial means. Mental health problems often make it impossible to continue in employment and can cause real social isolation. Lets Get Growing has a policy of excluding no-one on financial grounds and is committed to supporting participants to re-discover a place of balance, wellbeing and self-esteem.
This is what recent participants attending the project have had to say about their experience of being part of the gardening group:-
I have been struggling with neurological illness for many years, and am extremely isolated socially. The friendly, inclusive, relaxed and supportive atmosphere of the group helped me to feel at home right away. I immediately noticed an improvement in my overall well-being and quality of life. It has helped me to feel less isolated, including during times of National lockdown. I really appreciate the way the group is held - it feels as though each person is seen, known and celebrated as an individual. The atmosphere feels grounded, genuine, caring, respectful and easy. I appreciate and value all of these things so much! It delights me to know this space exists, and to be a part of it (even if Im a much less active part than I would prefer!) It is beautiful. I love it!
I can't thank you enough for welcoming me into the Lets Get Growing family I am blessed to have such an amazing set-up on my doorstep. It has helped to give me a purpose and structure to my day, friendship, support, real happiness and a sense of belonging. The Peace Garden has enhanced my life for the best and I am very grateful to all involved.
