Story
LifeCare Edinburgh has been caring for older people, those with dementia and carers for over 80 years. Our services include registered care, outreach activities, help at home services, meals on wheels, friendship matching and community engagement activities for local older people. LifeCare supports over 770 vulnerable elderly clients a year including those suffering with dementia, mobility issues, those experiencing isolation and loneliness, food poverty, financial disadvantage and mental health problems.
All of our care is person-centred - older people are consulted, involved and included in the activities we deliver. Our care services tackle the social exclusion and disadvantage older people can experience; we support and empower older people to live life to the full; we enable them to live independently and to enjoy life. We offer dedicated companionship and friendship matching services designed to tackle the growing problem of loneliness and isolation in older people, including our award-winning Vintage Vibes volunteer project, our calendar of community engagement activities and our Zest for Life social activities.
