The Leger Legends race is the only British charity race for ex-professional jockeys which is run under the Rules of Racing. This year it will be run on the final day of the Betfred St Leger Festival, which will finish on a Sunday. The Leger Legends Race is the feature event, capturing the attention of the national racing media. Since its inception in 2010, the race has raised in excess of £1 million for the Injured Jockeys Fund Jack Berry House and the National Horseracing College and is one of the flagship charitable events in the sporting calendar.

Over the years, the Leger Legends Race has seen some of the biggest names in the sport, including the likes of Sir AP McCoy, Pat Eddery OBE, Barry Geraghty and St Leger winning jockey and trainer, Joseph OBrien, don their breeches one more time.

In 2015, Jack Berry House in Malton opened its doors, meaning, for the first five years of the race, the funds raised played a vital role in helping turn Jack Berrys dream into a reality.

Since being opened by the Injured Jockeys Fund Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, Jack Berry House has become an integral part of the racing fabric in the north of England and its doors are constantly busy with both current and retired jockeys.

Through funds raised by the Leger Legends Race, the rehabilitation and fitness facilities have developed, progressed and become ever more sophisticated with the centre now able to offer a fully holistic approach to every aspect of physical and mental health.

The Injured Jockeys Fund is eternally grateful to the Leger Legends Race, all those who have organised, supported and ridden in it and the difference the race has made in enabling the Fund to carry out important work.

The National Horseracing College, located in the grounds of Rossington Hall, south of Doncaster, provides training and development opportunities for those new to the sport and for existing racing personnel looking to further develop their careers in the horseracing industry. Each year the National Horseracing College, which is inclusive and non-selective in its recruitment processes, provides over 15,000 training days to over 500 learners of all ages.
