Project Objective:
Drop of Compassion have pledged to help fund a dedicated, single-site, state of the art childrens hospital to care for the children of Leicester and the East Midlands.

Childrens services in Leicester hospitals are amongst the busiest in the country yet the East Midlands is the only region in England without a dedicated, single-site childrens hospital.
They are our future
The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Safeguarding their health and well-being should be of paramount importance.

Our target of £250,000 (by end of July 2020) will help achieve:
8-bed PICU cubicle ward
8-Bed PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit) cubicle ward in the PICU ward of the LRI (Leicester Royal Infirmary), Kensington Building, where sick and poorly children can be offered the very best of care.
2 x Isolation HDU Rooms
2 x Isolation HDU (High Dependency Unit) Rooms on the cardiac ward of the LRI (Leicester Royal Infirmary), Kensington Building.
Local treatment
Removing the need for children to be transferred to specialist units around the country.
