Story
By sponsoring Claudia and the young people of LACY you will help send vital medical aid to vulnerable patients in sub-Saharan Africa.
Here is a story about the impact Inter Care has on rural health units in Malawi.
In 2009, we visited Nzama Health Centre which is situated in a remote area surrounded by dry land. We witnessed one pair of disposable gloves hanging on a washing line which was being used over and over again for newborn-deliveries. The injection room had very little stock and there were no gloves in site. The need for help was urgent.
Constant support was given
Over the years, we could see that the stock at the health centre was improving. Amongst the medicines and medical equipment that we were supplying, there was PPE on the shelves. The difference since our first visit was incredible.
Success since Inter Care's help
When we met the team at Nzama in 2019, we could see the massive improvement in new born delivery since our first visit in 2009. They had a good amount of PPE which they have been ordering from Inter Care over the years. The rates of infections have steadied and women were receiving great post-natal care.
