Story
Pattisons Academy is an education and rehabilitation academy providing comprehensive, year-round programs to support children with disabilities and their families. Our collaborative model integrates therapy and education to create a unique, individualized and intensive learning environment for every child that enters our doors. The four programs that makes up Pattisons Academy include Therapeutic Summer Camp, Therapy Services, Family Support Services, and PACE Charter School. At Pattisons we place the child at the center of care and surround them with a team of supporters, providing the tools necessary for the child to maximize their developmental potential.
In this past year, Pattisons Academy has celebrated several exciting milestones. The school moved to a more central location within the CCSD network. Now located inside North Charleston High School, the space allocated to us has allowed our student population to grow and have dedicated nursing and therapy space. We have also expanded our transportation fleet which allows us to provide more children door-to-door service. On a more personal note, we have celebrated a child, who was previously chair bound, walk herself to the bathroom, another child learn to feed himself and yet another child make significant advances towards active communication. This is just a few of the pivotal advancements our children work so hard towards every day.
Every child deserves the equality of opportunity to reach their maximal potential. State and Federal funding cover only 75% of the cost. We rely on the support of our community to bridge the gap. For more information please visit www.pattisonsacademy.org.
