Women and children in this region are amongst the most impoverished and disadvantaged in the world. They are now being seriously affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Families who were just about surviving are facing destitution as unemployment levels soar and women's small businesses collapse.

Having worked in the area for more than 25 years, Khwendo Kor is able to reach women and families in these marginalised regions as, crucially, it has their trust. KK has already started distributing food on the roadsides (see above) as well as giving small amounts of cash to the most needy. In addition, with the help of volunteers, they are giving vital advice on hygiene.

Aware of how expensive and difficult that face masks are to get hold of, KK is enabling women to set up small businesses to produce the masks. KK staff and volunteers are using their experience to help women market and distribute the masks to provide them with a sustainable means to raise income for their families, and help safeguard local people from the virus.

It is hard to imagine the severity of the situation for women and girls in northwest Pakistan right now, but with YOUR help we can support KK to help them survive this crisis. Every penny that you donate goes straight to KK's humanitarian effort. Please give as generously as you can.
