Story
And so it begins, kitten season is upon us...
For the last 50 years Goole RSPCA has saved the lives of thousands of cats and kittens, right now we are in overload.
We cannot cope with the amount of cats and kittens that need to come into care.
We are bombarded by members of the public asking us to take their cats and kittens as they are no longer wanted.
Sadly, many people are struggling financially, we are seeing many cat owners who are heartbroken because they can no longer care for their beloved cats. We are also inundated with requests for help for abandoned Mother cats with kittens or simply abandoned litters left in boxes or taken to a veterinary centre.
We worry what happens when we have to say no, but we try and prioritise sick, injured and the most at risk.
Vet bills are growing and we are struggling. The pressure on our team is overwhelming and we just don’t have the resources to cope.
We urgently need to raise funds to help pay for the care of kittens currently in our care.
The average cost of a typical cat/kitten in our care is between £245 and £300. When someone kindly adopts a cat they pay £85 and for a kitten £100.
Obviously, there is a shortfall and we have to find the remainder of funds other ways to support the continuation of our branch.
Currently we have 30+ young kittens in care which will cost between £7350 and £9000.
Goole RSPCA will always be here for the cats and kittens, but now more than ever, we need your help, your donation could save a life.
£5 could buy 3 small tins of kitten mousse
£12 could buy milk substitute for orphaned kittens
£40 could buy specialist Mother and baby cat biscuits
£100 could Spey a Mother cat or one of our older kittens
Without your support, none of what we do would be possible.
