Friends of Brooklands is a charity for set up to support Brooklands school, which is a primary school for children with Special Educational Needs. The school is a wonderful place which enhances the lives of so many children and their families. A lot of the funding for the specialist equipment and resources which support these children comes from donations.
FOBS have managed to fund some incredible resources for the school previously, including wheelchair swings, a specially adapted Trim Trail, sun canopies, astro-turf for play areas and safe and secure fencing for outdoor classrooms. These things make a huge difference and allow the curriculum at Brooklands to be broad, creative and fun. The resources funded by FOBS and its supporters mean that the children of Brooklands benefit from a learning environment that is effectively adapted to support their holistic needs.
FOBS are seeking to raise funds for a garden intervention room which will transform learning opportunities for children, allowing them space to split into smaller groups for focused learning. This calm and quiet space would be used by a large of number of children throughout the school week and would further enable teachers to tailor the curriculum to the children's individual learning styles.
Support from the members of Kingswood Golf Club would make a huge difference to the project and would be greatly appreciated.
