In Pakistan administered Azad Kashmir, specifically in the Fatehpur Thakyala (Nakyal) sector of district Kotli, people are suffering immensely. The individuals affected by cross border firing and shelling on the LoC (Line of Control) border and surrounding sectors are forced to fight for themselves and forced to live in poverty. LoC communities like many others, are struggling with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic but unfortunately face an even more detrimental fate because they lack food, shelter, a stable livelihood and basic fundamental facilities that were already hard to come by. The purpose of the LoC Foundation is to work hard to provide those in need with medical assistance.
Last year we visited the hospital in Fatehpur Thakyala (Nakyal) and we were notified that there is no kidney dialysis machine. This hospital serves 150,000 people and those in need of dialysis have to travel over two hours to the next city to receive this treatment. This is a journey that adds additional costs to these already helpless and impoverished people. The nearest city is Kotli, which only has five dialysis machines to cater for over 700,000 people. Unfortunately, they are also reaching their end life and will need replacing.
Its very sad to know there is no Kidney Dialysis machine in LoC Nakyal with a populations over 150,000 people.
In Azad Kashmir there is a real need for dialysis machines across the country with waiting lists tending to form in the hundreds, meaning patients are left waiting months upon months to get their treatments.
In LoC Nakyal area 10,000 people suffer from kidney related health issues yet there is no dialysis machine in this border area town.
Support by donating to LoC Foundation's vision that no kidney disease sufferer should die due to lack of funds or lack of available kidney dialysis facilities. HELP be a part of our campaign towards having a first dialysis machine in LoC Nakyal for their happier and healthier future.
