Kew Green Hotels are proud to support the Trussell Trust
Its a shocking statistic that there are 2.4 million people in the UK today who are living in destitution. This means they cannot afford the essentials we all need to eat, stay warm and dry, and to keep clean.
The Trussell Trust supports a nationwide network of more than 1,300 food bank centres providing emergency food and practical support to people locked in poverty.
Between April 2020 and March 2021 the Trussell Trust network distributed 2.5 million emergency food parcels. Thats 50,000 parcels every single week. Nearly 1 million of these went to children.
While these parcels support people in crisis, emergency food is not a long-term solution to hunger. Hunger is a symptom of people being pushed deeper into poverty, caused by not having enough money for the essentials. Thats why the Trussell Trust are also campaigning to shape our social security system to ensure it protects all of us when we need it.
We are proud to be supporting the Trussell Trust, helping their network of food banks to provide emergency food to people facing hardship and to stand alongside them to help end the need for food banks in the UK.
We will be taking on fundraising activities ranging from runs to bake offs and treks to afternoon teas to raise money for this amazing charity and thank you for your supporting us.
