A message from Kelly:-
I started long distance running in 2013 when I secured a London Marathon place. I loved the experience and challenge so much, that I continued running for ‘fun’. Its where I zone out and have some very creative ideas!! I’ve had some time out of running due to living in Singapore and having a baby - it was too hot to run (although I tried a few times at 5am). Now we’re back in the UK I’m loving these autumnal morning runs! A fun fact about me is that my initials are KFC! This will be my first long distance event since having a baby less than 2 years ago, so I wanted the challenge! Running around after a toddler tires me out and sometimes halts my training - but having my son there at the finish line will help get me through it! Someone also told me its flat so that’s always a bonus! The atmosphere during these big events has always been my favourite, strangers smiling at you lifts you up through tiredness (or pain). I’m new to the Southern Health NHS so raising money for the local Charity by doing something I love will be incredibly rewarding.
