Story
We are deeply saddened at the loss of our President, Dame Vera Lynn, who passed away peacefully, aged 103, on 18th June, surrounded by her close family.
The Charity has been severely hit by the Coronavirus outbreak and is facing one of its toughest financial periods ever. We have adopted the same determination Dame Vera showed throughout her long life and as one of Britains best-loved entertainers, to continue to support our families and their very young children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments.
Over the last few months we have been working hard to continue to provide support to our families in their homes, so the children do not miss out on our help during this period. We have been running weekly virtual sessions via zoom to families and our Service team have been guiding parents through exercises and activities that the children can work on using equipment at home. This has enabled us to continue to have a positive impact on their lives and their well-being. Families are finding our adapted service to be a lifeline, offering them stability at a time when everything else has changed so dramatically.
In Dame Vera's memory, we urge you to support us so we can continue to adapt our service to help our families. In the same way that Dame Vera provided positivity and spirit to the soldiers and their families during World War II, we here at her Children's Charity would like to be able to help our families to continue to 'Keep Smiling Through' this difficult time.
We need your help more than ever so please join us and donate now to our 'Keep Smiling Through Appeal.' The perfect tribute to a very special lady.
