January 2019 marks 25 years of Kangaroos supporting children and young people with learning disabilities in our local area, providing activities, social opportunities and exciting experiences to fulfil the emotional, social, cognitive and physical needs that all youngsters require.

We began with six members and now support more than 210 families and during our 25 year lifetime have supported hundreds more. The children and young adults attending our clubs have a range of disabilities including autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, complex medical needs, visual and hearing impairments, limited mobility and profound communication difficulties.

We enable our members to have a social life with their peers, giving them opportunities to enjoy a wide range of activities supported by experienced staff and volunteers. Due to their disabilities Kangaroos often provides the only social and recreational activity available to them outside of school and home. As well as our usual activities, during 2019 we will be Making Memories for our young people offering them once in a lifetime experiences which they will remember for the rest of their lives. These experiences might include overnight trips to EuroDisney, Centre Parcs and Alton Towers as well as day trips to London or to be a Farmer for the Day.

To enable us to realise our dream of making 2019 such a special year for our members we are launching our 'Memory of a Lifetime Campaign' to raise an additional £100,000 to create lasting memories for our children and young adults.
