After many years of planning, we have finally moved into our new site in Phnom Penh.

It’s a very exciting time, but also a very expensive one for KaisKids as we have had to renovate and develop the site as well as continue to provide the essentials for the children and young people in our care.

The brilliant news is that the local schools have registered our children including most of our children with special educational needs.

The prospect for our children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) starting school for the first time has been so exciting and they are settling in very well.

However, this means that we have to find funds for providing new school uniforms, sports kits and new school equipment for each child attending school.

Each child is required to have:

• 3 x school uniforms + bag and equipment = $70

• 2 x sports kits = $24

Total cost per child is $94. We currently have 22 children attending school and our total cost has been approximately $2,068 or £1,631.

This is a huge expense for a very small charity and we don’t want it to impact on any other area of provision for the children and young people in our care.
